ParanormalInvestigators.co.uk joined the hundreds of
other participants in the Worlds Biggest Ghost Hunt held at Tutbury Castle
on 30 April 2003. The event was arranged by Fright Nights and Lesley
Smith, the curator of Tutbury Castle, with the proceeds from the event
going to Marie Curie Cancer Fund and the MacMillan Cancer Care charities.
Despite the inclement weather the old record was smashed with in excess on
750 people attending.
After lengthy exploration of the Castle grounds and participating in one
of the ghost walks around Tutbury Castle, we joined the long queue to
visit ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ in the Great Hall and Kings Bedroom. As
one of the last three groups to enter the Kings Bedroom we had the dubious
honour of being in the only group that did not experience anything whilst
in there. Several earlier participants had had to seek medical attention
from the medics located in the Great Hall just outside the bedroom. This
is one of the reasons this room is normally closed to the general public.
It is said, that if you stand in this room with your back to the wall and
hold your hand out in front of you, at about waist height, you will feel a
draught on the palm of your hand and occasionally the sensation of a child
either touching or holding your hand.
Although a little disappointed by our lack of experiences in the Kings
Bedroom, we wondered if the following picture taken next to the throne in
the in the Great Hall, just prior to our entry into the Kings Bedroom,
could offer an explanation.
