ParanormalInvestigators.co.uk were fortunate
enough to have the opportunity to carry out a unique overnight
investigation with MysteryMag at Tutbury Castle on 26 April 2003. The
investigation team assembled at about 23:00 and were given a brief tour of
the habitable buildings, including the offices, by the Curator, Leslie
Smith. Once the tour was complete, Lesley left for the night allowing the
team complete access to all areas of the Castle and grounds.
The team retired to the Great Hall where a crystal dowsing session was conducted (Results to follow shortly), followed by the setting up of monitoring equipment in both the Great Hall and Kings Bedroom. This consisted of the monitoring of temperatures, sound and humidity in the Great Hall and motion detection recording equipment in the Kings Bedroom. |

To prevent any human contamination, the team conducted a lengthy tour of the Castle ruins where almost identical results were recorded by both Mediums, in both the Castle dungeon and undercroft. As it is the policy of ParanormalInvestigators.co.uk not to report on what individual people on an investigation feel, as there is no verifiable evidence, no further reference will be made in this report. After about 50 minutes, the intensity of the Great Hall became too much and following a loud bang in the room, the team decided to relocate to a room situated on the ground floor behind the office and entrance to the cellar. In this vicinity, the ghost of a little old lady has been reported to have removed keys from locks and move furniture about. Most of the team detected a strong smell of sulphur upon entering the room, which dissipated shortly afterwards. There were no other anomalies noted whilst in the area. |

| With the video recording having finished and the first signs
of daybreak, the team relocated to the Kings Bedroom, which has no natural
lighting with the exception of a skylight. Although nothing was seen or
heard whilst in this location several people were aware of a cold spot,
which appeared to have the rough dimensions of a small child in the far
corner of the room.
After a further break for refreshments the team took another walk around the castle grounds with an opportunity to take some photographs of the location during daylight hours, before packing away the equipment and vacating the premises. |
