Divination Devices & Communication Methods

A lot of the other paranormal teams websites give you a brief insight into the types of equipment they use during paranormal investigations. But do our visitors really want to know about all the different types of cameras, audio devices and various measuring equipment that we own? After all, no technical equipment has been specifically developed for paranormal investigation, but in fact borrowed from other uses. We can assure you though that we have technical equipment capable of measuring all the four elements. So for a change, we thought that we would give you a bit of a peek at some of the alternative equipment that we have available to us.

Automatic Writing

This is one of the simple methods of communication where the subject holds a pen on top of a piece of paper and allows the spirit forces to guide their hand.

Communication Boards

This generic name is used to describe the various types of Ouija, witch and Talk boards.

Communication Circle

Although this could be classed as a séance a communication circle is used specifically to try and help spirits make physical and visual contact.

Dowsing Rods

Originally used to locate various forms of energy by the subject concentrating on what they were looking for, but can also answer yes and no questions.

ESP Writing *

A more advanced form of Automatic Writing where the subjects hand is psychically controlled by their colleagues.

Glass Divination

A ‘Poor Mans’ communication board where glass is used to obtain yes and no answers.

Pendulum Dowsing

Used similarly to Dowsing Rods but may be used over maps or mats to obtain more specific answers.

Rocking Spirit Board *

This is a form of dial plate which uses rocking motions to point to the answers.

Scrying Mirror/Bowl/Ball

An age old tool where the subject attempts to look through the object and see reflections from the world beyond.

Séance

Sit comfortably round a table, join hands and invite the spirits to come and communicate with you.

Suspendulum **

A tool for those amongst us that do not shy away from a bit of exercise, as the Suspendulum is not only capable of answering yes and no questions, but can also demonstrate varying degrees of emotion.

Table Planchette *

This tool is an advance on glass divination or the use of a simple planchette where, due to its size the Table Planchette is capable of giving 3 dimensional answers.

Table Tipping

Place your hands on the table and allow the spirits to either rap on, or move the table in answer to simple yes and no questions.

Talking Planchette *

A variation on the communication board where the planchette itself contains the letters and numbers and moves to a marker to signify its answers.

Tuttle’s Dial Plate  ***

A Psychograph or Dial Planchette invented by Hudson Tuttle.

Wobbler Board *

Although this device is loosely based on the dial plate theory it is capable of spelling out words extremely quickly using a similar principle to a daisy wheel printer/typewriter.

Writing Planchette

This is similar to a planchette used on a communication board, but instead of the planchette pointing out letters on the board it has a writing implement attached to it. This enables the spirits to either write messages or even draw pictures.

* These devices are unique to PICOUK and their subsidiaries and are only otherwise available for public or private events.
